We are thrilled to have Cecil Pendergrass, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, as our speaker for the March Fort Myers luncheon.   The Commissioner will speak to us about the future of Southwest Florida and the exciting new developments in Lee County.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Cecil has always been an advocate for our community - proudly dedicating his life to public service.  Cecil faithfully served the people of Lee County as a City of Fort Myers Police Officer for 25 years. Following retirement from his law enforcement career, Cecil worked as Vice President of Private Asset Management Group, LLC.  In November 2012, Cecil ran for public office and was elected to the Lee County Board of County Commissioners – District 2. In a vote of confidence from his colleagues, he was unanimously sworn in as Chairman of the Board at his first meeting.  In 2014, he was awarded The News-Press’ 2013 Public Official of the Year and received his County Commissioner Certification (CCC) through the Florida Associations of Counties (FAC). In November 2014, with overwhelming support from the voters, Cecil was reelected to serve another four years.  In his role as county commissioner, he serves as Board liaison to the Public Safety Coordinating Council, TEAMFL, Value Adjustment Board, Human Services, Regional Planning Council, Juvenile Justice Circuit Advisory Board, and chairs the Tourist Development Council.  In addition, Cecil was appointed by FAC to serve on the Florida Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation. He also serves on Lee Health’s Regional Advisory Council on Trauma. In November 2017, he was appointed to serve again as Chairman of the Board and most recently appointed as Chair of the Board of Port Commissioners.

Our colleagues in the Princeton Club and the Lee County Harvard Club are invited to join us. As always, spouses and significant others are welcome.
